Peer Review

When engaging in peer reviews. I have learned that I use more words than necessary when I express my ideas. My peers helped me identify repetitive phrases and stick to a more active and concise tone in my writing. This is something I never thought of or noticed in my regular writing. I helped a peer see a problem by acknowledging run on sentences and sentences that may be worded differently but still give the same message. This helps the writer in future papers and readers to follow the message of the paper. Peer reviews are used in my other subjects, such as my lab reports for my science classes, presentations for my humanities classes, and any other papers, journals, etc. that take place in another class. Especially in my major, nursing, there are lots of maths and sciences that take place in my major, having a peer double check my work is beneficial. As well as my potential career field, as a nurse, the work is very important and you hold a lot of responsibility. Having someone with you for important jobs is helpful especially when it comes to monitoring your work. I can bring what I learned from peer reviews to my future subject at UNE by keeping an eye out for any grammar, logical, punctuation, word choice errors. In return to any of these errors, I will use the tips for writing that I have learned from peer reviews.
