Annotations: Rhys Southern, “Is Art a Waste of Time?”

Mostly what I annotated on this page was the main argument, EA = Effective Altruism = doing all the good you can with your life, and the EA goal is to reduce global poverty.
On this page I annotated about the main argument, EA/EA’s = Effective Altruism/Effective Altruist = doing all the good you can with your life, and the EA’s goal is to reduce global poverty.
I annotated about the importance of art, what the EA’s think of being passive in the world, the history of EA, and a viewpoint from the EA’s on art.
This page was mostly annotated with quotes to use in my project that discussed the main goals of the EA’s, this goal was about getting stuff done no matter the consequences. The EA’s also stated that artists are painting a landscape while the rest of the world is burning. This is good evidence to talk about the EA’s opinions on art and its effects.
On this page there was nothing new talked about. The EA’s brought up other viewpoints and opinions about art, the author is seeing both sides (art and Effective Altruism).
This page had some good standing points, asking questions about art and its relevance and creating art for yourself or for the world. These pieces were good evidence.
On this page it started off strong, there was a quote that asked a powerful question. Basically proposing, if you could stop everything bad from happening in the world, forever, that would be very good, right? Connecting back to the idea of Effective Altruism. As well as continuing their connections to making art and how it effects the world.
Lastly, this page was about the author and deciding between which is more powerful than the other? Effective Altruism or art? What is right? What is wrong?
